Short answer

In education, AI answers choice questions (“which online master’s in digital marketing would you recommend”), comparison questions (“X or Y”), price questions and value questions (“is it worth it”, “what jobs does it lead to”). It can cite rankings, media, student forums, course portals and the websites of schools that publish the programme, price, faculty and conditions. What is usually missing: visible price and financing terms, the full programme in HTML (not only as a PDF), faculty with names and backgrounds, and honest employability data with its method.

Five typical questions

What is usually missing

  • Price, grants and financing on the programme page, not behind a form.
  • The full programme in HTML. Modules, hours, assessment, requirements. A downloadable PDF does not replace the page.
  • Faculty with names and backgrounds. “Working professionals” does not answer “who teaches it?”.
  • Employability data with a method. If you publish a percentage, say which cohort, how many answered and when. A figure without a method is one that AI may repeat and someone will dispute.
  • Honest comparisons with the programmes you compete with, by criteria (length, price, format, accreditation).
  • Consistency of the school’s and programmes’ names across portals, rankings and profiles.

Where to start

  1. Measure twelve choice, comparison and value questions on two platforms.
  2. Publish price and financing on every programme.
  3. Turn the programme into a complete, crawlable page.
  4. Complete the faculty.
  5. Measure again.

What this guide does not say

The questions and gaps in this guide are working hypotheses drawn from how people buy in the sector, not the result of a published measurement. They help you decide what to measure first. Following the guide does not guarantee you appear either: each assistant decides what it cites, and only a repeated measurement will tell you what works in your case.
