What does your page tell machines?
We read your page's HTML like a crawler that runs no JavaScript: the JSON-LD blocks, their types and properties, and the tags a search engine or an assistant reads first.
What the tool does, step by step
- Step 1
We request the page
From our server we request your home page or the address you type, with up to three redirects, and read up to 512 KB of HTML.
- Step 2
We read the JSON-LD and the head
We find each application/ld+json block, parse it, list its types and look at the title, description, canonical, Open Graph, robots and language tags.
- Step 3
We check the properties
For Organization, LocalBusiness, FAQPage, Product, WebSite, BreadcrumbList and Article we check the properties Google documents.
What it checks and what it cannot tell you
What it checks
- Each JSON-LD block: whether it can be read and, if not, the error.
- The declared types, including those in @graph and nested ones.
- Properties of Organization (name, url, logo, sameAs), LocalBusiness, FAQPage, Product, WebSite, BreadcrumbList and Article.
- Title, meta description, canonical, Open Graph, meta robots, the X-Robots-Tag header and the document language.
What it cannot tell you
- Markup added with JavaScript after the page loads. We read the HTML as it arrives.
- Whether your page can get rich results. For that, Google's Rich Results Test.
- Whether the data is true. Markup should describe what the page already shows; inventing ratings or awards does harm.
- Whether an AI will cite you. No schema forces Google or ChatGPT to do so.
Frequently asked questions
What people usually ask before and after using the tool.
Can't find your question? Write to us
No. Google says no special markup is needed for its AI features, and OpenAI documents none. Structured data helps describe your entity without ambiguity.
As a base, Organization (or LocalBusiness if you serve customers at a location) with name, website, logo and official profiles in sameAs. Then whatever each page has: FAQPage for visible questions, Product if you sell products, Article on articles.
It is not wrong; Google accepts JSON-LD, microdata and RDFa. This tool only analyses JSON-LD and tells you if it finds microdata or RDFa without analysing them.
If the markup is inserted with JavaScript after loading, it is not in the HTML we read. Some crawlers do not see it either. The safest is for it to arrive in the HTML.
