How we measure: platforms, frequency and countries
Which AI platforms we measure, how often and from which country, and what an answer, a mention, a citation, visibility and share of voice mean.
Step by step
- Open “Account settings” and, under “Your brand”, choose your daily platforms in “Account models”; then press “Save models”.
- Watch “Next check in”, top right, to see when the next pass starts.
- Open a prompt and read its saved answers, each with its platform, date and sources.
- Compare periods and models with each screen's filters.
Which platforms we measure and how often
Each day we measure the platforms you choose among ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Microsoft Copilot and Perplexity. Platforms per plan: Starter 2, Growth 4 and Enterprise 5. Perplexity is measured through its API with web search, and the others in their web versions. Claude is also measured once a week on every plan, through its API with web search, for all your questions and outside the platform limit. Grok will be available once its automatic measurement is validated.
Each question is measured from its brand’s country, in that country’s language: Spain, the United States, or Germany. Microsoft Copilot is measured in Spain only.
What each term means
- Answer: what one platform replies to one prompt in one pass, saved with its date and sources.
- Mention: the answer names your brand by one of its names.
- Visibility: the share of evaluable answers that name you.
- Average position: your place in the lists the answers rank; 1 is first.
- Share of voice: your part of the mentions of the brands you track, each brand counted once per answer.
- Citation: a page the answer uses as a source, grouped by domain.
- Failure: an answer that fails, arrives empty or is cut off is kept, but it does not count as your brand being absent.
